The process

What happens

A good first experience at the dentist shapes how children feel about dental care for life. We keep visits short, explain everything in words children understand, and let parents stay close.

  1. 01

    Meet and settle

Your child sits in the chair, meets the dentist and sees the instruments before anything happens.

  2. 02

    Check-up

We check the teeth, gums and bite, and talk you through what we see.

  3. 03

    Prevention

Where it helps, we apply fluoride varnish or sealants to protect against decay.

  4. 04

    Advice for home

Simple guidance on brushing, sweets and drinks, and when to come back.

Questions

Common Questions

Do milk teeth really need fillings if they’ll fall out anyway?

Often, yes. Milk teeth hold space for adult teeth, and some stay until around age 12. Untreated decay can cause pain and infection, so we’ll explain the options for each tooth.

Can I stay with my child during the appointment?

Yes. Most young children feel calmer with a parent close by.
