Typical time: 3–6 months
The process
What happens
An implant is a small titanium post placed in the jawbone, where it bonds with the bone and supports a crown, bridge or denture. Implants don’t rely on the neighbouring teeth, and they help keep the jawbone healthy where a tooth is missing.
- 01
Consultation
We examine your mouth, take the X-rays or scans needed to check the bone, and explain whether implants suit you.
- 02
Placement
Under local anaesthetic, the implant is placed in the jawbone.
- 03
Healing
Over the next few months the bone bonds with the implant. Where suitable, you can wear a temporary tooth in the meantime.
- 04
Your new tooth
A custom crown, bridge or denture is made and fixed onto the implant.
Questions
Common Questions
How long do implants last?
With good cleaning and regular check-ups, implants can last many years. The crown on top may need replacing after years of wear.
I’m visiting Lahore for a few weeks. Can I have an implant during my trip?
The implant can often be placed during one trip, but the bone needs a few months to heal before the final tooth is fitted. Message us before you travel and we’ll plan the visits around your dates.
| Treatment | Typical time |
|---|---|
| Crowns and bridges | 2 visits |
| Dentures | 4–5 visits |
